We had a thunderstorm roll through last night. My husband and I were watching TV and there was so much thunder and lightening that we didn't even hear this tree fall. I am so glad it fell in the direction it did. That tree was not far from the house.

Ah, Summertime

Bottle is a Starbucks drink from target (large size).After contents were consumed, I removed labels with Goof Off, washed thoroughly,added Diet Coke, ice and straw...then enjoyed. I think I will paint the lids silver to resemble vintage milk bottles. I plan to purchase the small ones as well. These bottles would be great to fill with lemonade or your favorite drink and nestle in an iced container for a summer gathering.

We need rain

It has been so dry and I am getting weary of all of the watering to do outside. These hydrangea bushes are just to far away from the house to water regularly. the heat has taken it's toll on them...only a couple of new blooms left. All were taken with my 50 1.4 I am a little excited. All I did was sharpen for the web! I need to work on the photo size on this blog. Sorry the pics fell to one side.

Knockout Roses & Hosta

I love the brillant color of these red Knockout Roses. I picked up a couple and received another two today for an early Mother's Day gift. I can't wait to get them in the ground. I really liked the shot of the hosta. The texture in the leaves just draws me in.

Spring Floral

Just a shot of a spring floral arrangement my sister made for me. It hangs in the mudroom/laundry area. She is such a sweet sister. I am still trying to figure out manual mode and how it all works. Any thoughts you might have on how I can approve would be greatly appreciated. Taken with my Canon 30D and 50 1.4 lens.

Working on White Balance

Still working on putting it all together. Tried to get my white balance correct. I put these to good use this morning. I am starting to walk again. It felt good!

My form of relaxation.

I spent my day off from work mowing the lawn. I love to cut the grass. I know crazy! I take after my Mom. Went I get on the rider all of my cares just fade away. I turn up the tunes on my Ipod and just relax. I had time today to pick up a few perennials. Here is one I think I am really going to like.
